In the Biltmore District of Phoenix, The Green Room interprets the rich textures and minimalist materials of this new construction home for a landscape that provides the family a place to play, relax, and flourish.

Individual exterior rooms extend the architecture’s design philosophy. A clean and minimalist material palette underline’s the strong lines of the built forms. A showcase ironwood specimen in a raised steel frame greets visitors at the entry.

A rectilinear walkway with deliberate 90-degree turns keeps evil spirits from entering the house. In the backyard, an outdoor entertainment space unfolds. Surrounding the pool are an olive tree grove and a Sonoran Desert meadow adorned with salvaged ironwoods, saguaros, and ocotillo to restore native ecology and provide human scale.

A sprawling sunken natural grass play area is watered with an efficient flood irrigation system. Raised garden beds overflow with herbs and vegetables.
