Mummy Mountain
A mid-century modern’s lush hillside perch
Landscapes > Mummy Mountain
Landscape design adaptations solve for frequent flooding, large elevation changes, an eroded topography, and multiple micro-climates. New and salvaged saguaros form a forest gate at the property entrance.
Reminiscent of a desert canyon, form and mass come together in a reinforced rock wall to stabilize the slope and facilitate drainage. Concrete grid paving filled with crushed rock bolsters the integrity of the subgrade soil.
Salvaged Ironwoods mix with existing native trees to form a continuous shade canopy. Retention basins mimic natural depressions to slow rain run off. Native species promote biodiversity.
