Gold Canyon
A desert zen courtyard
Landscapes > Gold Canyon
A procession of tree canopies carry guests on the long entrance drive. Architectural pathways lead to moments of decompression. A restrained courtyard defined by patinated boulders and rock work is nestled within a canopy of specimen ironwood trees.
Opuntia provide striking form and patterns of light. Materiality augments a visitor’s experience through color, texture, patina, and sound – the crunch of rock and gravel.
Custom honed boulders follow a walking path to the outdoor shower. Circular cacti accentuate the water movement and drainage and frame the far vistas.
